All of our teachers are trained through Music Together LLC in Princeton NJ. They receive ongoing support through songs and skills workshops, certification training, teacher newsletters and training videos.

Mary Beth Camp Co-Director and Teacher
Mary Beth studied voice at the Cleveland Music School Settlement and has sung all her life. After a long career as a photographer, she returned to her love of music. Mary Beth started the first Music Together Center in Hong Kong while living overseas. She plays guitar and autoharp, sings in the ensemble PDX Vox and holds Certification Level 1.

Bonnie Singer Co-Director and Teacher
Bonnie has a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance and has performed professionally in NYC and throughout the USA. She currently performs in Portland as a member and soloist with Aurora Chorus and teaches music to children at Grace Arts Institute. Bonnie has an M.A. in Education and holds Music Together Certification Level 1.

Joell Bradshaw Teacher
Joell studied voice and sung in choirs ensembles and musicals. With her
background in ballet and jazz dancing, she infuses her Music Together classes with movement. Joell has a Master of Social Work concentrating on children and families. She also plays guitar and loves to sing with her two sons and holds Certification Level 1.

Shannon Brazil Teacher
Shannon is a professional actor and an award winning playwright who got her start in musical theatre. She worked in New York City and LA where she also taught in theatre arts workshops for children. Motherhood has lead Shannon straight back to her musical roots playing guitar and writing songs with her family.

Kathleen Cartwright Teacher
Kathleen just moved to Portland from Connecticut where she has taught Music Together since 2004 with MT of the River Valley and worked as a librarian. Singing, dancing, playing the guitar and flute with families and playing in local bands are her loves. Kathleen holds Music Together Certification Level 1.

Vanessa Chaves Cochran Teacher
Vanessa has a Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory where she studied opera and a Master's Degree from OSU in Education. After working as a classroom and an ESL teacher, she now composes silly songs at her daughters' preschool. Vanessa plays the autoharp and piano and loves making music with families.

David Edwards Teacher
David blends a lifetime of experience with children and the performing arts in the Music Together setting, and was formerly director of his own MT center in the SF Bay area.  Though he holds degrees in music ed. and theatre, his favorite school is music itself and his favorite teachers are the children with whom he creates it.

Adam Gailiunas Teacher
Adam has been a professional musician playing in bands, producing and recording music for decades. He plays guitar, mandolin, piano, bass, drums and harmonica and gives private music lessons. Adam has been teaching Music Together in preschools in Portland the past few years and loves to make music with his toddler son.

Ara Gale Teacher
Ara sang and worked professionally in New York City for over 10 years in musicals, choirs, and as a soloist and studio musician before moving to Portland in 2008. She is currently studying vocal jazz performance at Portland State University and loves making music and playing ukelele with her daughter Willa.

Bridgit Jacobsen Teacher
Bridgit sudied voice at Eastman and Ithaca College Schools of Music and plays piano and guitar. In recent years, she has sung professionally and traveled the USA and Europe with a successful independent rockband. Her love of children led her to teach Music Together in San Francisco for 3 years before moving to Portland.

Elizabeth Lavenue Teacher
Elizabeth has spent the past 15 years as a singer/actor/dancer with various groups, such as Portland Opera, Mock's Crest Productions, and Angels The Next Generation. A lover of East and West, she has lived in India studying and exploring Indian music and religions. Elizabeth currently teaches private voice lessons from her home.

Betsy LeVine Teacher On Sabbatical for 2011/12 school year. Will be back in fall 2012!
Betsy has worked as a preschool teacher in both Montessori and charter schools since 2003. Her love for children and natural silliness combined with singing, playing guitar and clarinet led her to train as a teacher with Music Together. She has taught Israeli folk dancing to children and is studying fiddle.

Maggie Lind Teacher
Maggie plays banjo, fiddle and guitar. Through private banjo lessons and as a MT teacher, she inspires people to make musical community a part of their daily lives. Outside of class, Maggie calls and plays for square dances and sings with her husband, Patrick, and fellow teacher, Caroline Oakley.

Heidi Nelms Teacher
Heidi has cherished her work with children as a nanny, social worker and teacher for over twenty years. She teaches music at Trillium Charter School and Rigler School and fell in love with Music Together attending classes with her son. Heidi sings and plays bass, guitar and drums in various bands along with her husband.

Caroline Oakley Teacher
Caroline plays Appalachian Old-Time fiddle and guitar and is one of Portland's most sought after square dance callers. Performing in a duet with her husband, she teaches and calls square dances at various farmer's markets, hoedowns, and festivals. Caroline has worked for years with children in a social service setting.

Jillian Rhodes Teacher
Jillian has sung in choirs, vocal ensembles and garage bands. Her years of experience teaching dance and creative movement, classroom teaching and nannying reflect her love of working with children. Jillian sings and plays guitar with the string band, Ask Irene, and studies modern dance.

Kaeley O'Leary Stephens Teacher
Teacher Kaeley has been singing all her life wherever she can in choirs, ensembles, community bands and song circles. Her years of experience teaching as an environmental educator, being a parent in Music Together classes with her 3 daughters, and her love for community music making led her to become a MT teacher.
